#WeekendOffNailArtChallenge – Day 23 Animals

Today’s theme is animals. I don’t know if a purple leopard with pink, white and holographic spots exists but wouldn’t that be awesome. I have had the glitter topper for a couple of months so it was time to use it.

VDSC_0938

I started with two coats of Essie Coat Couture, a matte purple polish with blue shimmer. A really liked this polish but it was a tiny bit uneven at two coats so if I hadn’t added another polish on top, I would probably have done a third coat. The glitter topper is Different Dimension Feelin’ Spotty, which consists of tiny holographic glitter, small white hex glitter, small pink and holographic round glitters, medium-sized white, pink and holographic round glitter and finally white, pink and holographic leopard glitter.

VDSC_0930

I applied a normal coat of the glitter and then dumped some out on a piece of paper where I then picked up the leopard glitter and placed them where I wanted. I also picked up some of the regular glitters and applied them in spots that needed a bit more using a dotting tool. I applied a coat of Gelous to create smooth finish and topped it with a coat of Seche Vite. Feelin’ Spotty is a super fun polish and the glitters sparkle in the sun.

#WeekendOffNailArtChallenge – Day 21 Love

Today’s theme is love. A long time ago The Nailasaurus did a heartbeat manicure, and I remembered it when I saw the love theme. Because of my exam I did todays nail art on my right hand to be able to enjoy it longer.

VDSC_0925

The vinyls I used are from TwinkledT. I used the skinny heartbeat ones on my thumb, index, middle and pinky and a sketched heart one on my ring finger. The sketched heart was extremely difficult to get of the paper without tearing it completely as well as removing it from the nail afterwards. I used three coats of Maybelline Wine Shimmer on my thumb and middle nail and Essie Just Stitched on the index and pinky nail. The gold holographic on my ring finger is Different Dimension All That Glitters is not Gold.

VDSC_0920

I topped the vinyls with OPI Black Onyx and removed them immediately after polishing over them. I like the heart of gold, but the heartbeats also turned out really nice.

#WeekendOffNailArtChallenge – Day 7 Red

Today’s theme is red. In my head red is very much connected to roses. So I looked at different pictures of rose nail art on Google, and found this really pretty rose nail art by Sarah from Chalkboard Nails. I was really inspired by her pretty roses and placement, that I recreated it.

VDSC_0719

I started with three coats of Different Dimension Ready, Set, Snow, a white/grey scattered holographic creme polish. I then created the roses using China Glaze Hey Sailor, Cult Nails Quench and OPI Alpine Snow. I also mixed a drop of Hey Sailor and Alpine Snow to create a lighter pink to also highlight with. The base of the leaf is Essie Mojito Madness and the darker green is Cult Nails Flash.

VDSC_0725

I created the base of the rose with a large dotting tool, and the details with a fine detailing brush. I finished with a coat of Seche Vite. The larger roses are my favorites, because the got a more uneven edge making them look more like roses, where my smaller roses was more completely round.

Fancy Friday #98 – Untried

Happy friday. Todays theme is untried, so I grabbed a couple of untried polishes and an untried stamping plate. I created a skittlette and I really like it.

VDSC_0608

On my index and pinky I did three coats of Nubar Rockin the Garden, a pretty dusty blue with blue/green shimmer. On my thumb and middle I painted a coat of Cult Nails Faded and a coat of Cult Nails Disciplined. On top I stamped with Depend 262 and MoYou London Bridal 07 plate. On my ring finger I painted three coats of Different Dimension Pothos, a beautiful rose gold/silver flake polish.

VDSC_0614

Pothos is super shiny and reflective. I was inspired by Martha from ChitChatNails. She did a skittlette using Different Dimension Pothos, that I just love. You can see it right here. Click on the blue blob to see what the other did with untried.

I dag er temaet uprøvet. Jeg fandt nogle uprøvede lakker og en uprøvet stamping plade fra MoYou London. Jeg synes det blev en ret fin skittlette. Klik på den blå blob for at se hvad de andre har lavet.

Fancy Friday #94 – Valentines Day

Happy early Valentines Day. I don’t celebrate the day, but I don’t mind eating chocolates and wearing pink on my nails. I did a pink, red and silver water marble. Last year for our Valentines Day prompt, I also did a water marble.

VDSC_0505

I started with two coats of OPI Don’t Bossa Nova Me Around, I then applied a coat of liquid latex around my nails and under my finger. It made the cleanup process so much easier and it dried much faster than glue. Only thing to be aware of is not to touch your fingers together because the liquid latex will stick together. I used OPI Don’t Bossa Nova Me Around, Barry M Silver Foil, Different Dimension HO3, Picture Polish Grace and Revlon Passionate Pink.

VDSC_0515

My first plan was to stamp with different Valentines Day motives, but I liked how the water marble turned out, so I didn’t want to cover it up. I had some tiny bubbles on my middle finger that I covered up using a lip stamp from MoYou London Hipster 07 and Depend Black Stamping polish. Click on the blue blob to see what the other ladies have come up with for today.

Fancy Friday #90 – Striping tape

It’s Fancy Friday number 90. I can’t believe that I have done so many, it’s really a fun group, because I have really been challenged to think more creatively and explored new techniques. Today we are tackling striping tape. Something I have played with more than once.

VDSC_0500

I knew I wanted to use my new polish from Different Dimension Sexy and I Snow It. I was inspired by Dressed Up Nails, who did a lot of cool striping and freehand, unfortunately she doesn’t blog anymore, but you can still check out her blog. Some of these patterns on my nails was a little hard to do, especially to one on my middle finger, I think that was why I went with a relatively simple design on my ring finger, because at that point I was almost ready to throw the tape out the window 🙂 As the base I used two coats of Nails Inc Lily, but if I had been more careful I could definitely have gotten away with one coat since it’s super pigmented.

VDSC_0513

I think my favorite design is the one on my thumb, it was somewhat easy to do, the only thing to be careful about is lining up the ends of the tape that is pointing down, to the last diagonal tape, so that the line is one line with no gaps. The polish sparkles much more in real life, but the sun has been elusive in Denmark the past week and my camera wouldn’t capture the holographic-ness of the glitter. Click on the blue blob to see what the other ladies have come up with for today.

I dag er det Fælles Fredag nummer 90. Vildt.

Fancy Friday #65 – Girly

Hello everybody. My first “live” post in three weeks. I came home last sunday from three weeks in the midwest in the US. It was an amazing vacation with national parks and shopping. Once I’m fully packed out, I will show you what polish and make up I got. I’m also thinking about doing a post about bargain hunting and couponing in the US, because this can help you get stuff cheaper than it already is 🙂

Back to Fancy Friday. Today’s theme is girly and I pulled out 5 different indie polishes I hadn’t worn yet. I did some stamping on top using Depend Black Stamping Polish and MoYou Festive Plate 13.

VDSC_0050

I did three coats of each of the polishes. On my thumb (which I suddenly remembered I hadn’t photographed) I used Girly Bits Mother May I?, index is Pretty & Polished Tart, middle is Different Dimension On Wednesday’s We Wear Pink, ring finger is Glam Polish So Fluffy I’m Gonna Die and pinky is Pretty & Polished Cheer Camp.

VDSC_0056

I think it turned out super girly, and the skittle looks cute. The stamping was just icing on the cake. Click on the blue blob to see what the other ladies have come up with for the girly theme.
