Fancy Friday #167 – Recreate your first nail art

Happy Friday. Today we are recreating our first nail art. I chose the nail art I did for the very first Fancy Friday many many Fridays ago. I updated it a little bit, and I think it turned out so good.

Here is the original manicure, and just click here, to be taken to the original blogpost.

I have two coats of China Glaze First Mate on my index and pinky, and two studs. I switched the sides I placed them on. On my middle I have three coats of Barry M Sky Blue, because I destashed the Essence polish I used. Instead of the rhinestones I did a little stamping using MoYou London Pro XL14 and MoYou London White Knight. On my ring finger I have three coats of Kiko 294 Indigo and some round blue iridescent glequins from BornPrettyStore.

I dag skal vi genskabe vores første nail art. Jeg har genskabt den første Fælles Fredag manicure jeg lavede, dog opdaterede jeg den lidt, med noget stamping i stedet for de rhinsten jeg havde på en af neglene.

Fancy Friday #72 – Decorated edges

Happy friday. I’m trying to get back into the swing of things, since I’m at school every day of the week. Luckily in about a month I will have to days off, making it much easier to balance school and doing homework. Last year, when we were playing with studs, I did a framed nail using studs and bullions. I immediately thought of that nail art when I saw the theme for today.

I pulled out my glequins, and decided on the holographic silver ones from Born Pretty Store. I began with three coats of Colors by Llarowe – Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, which is supposed to be a dupe for Essie Starry Starry Night. I then used a bit of base coat and a dotting tool to pick up and place the glequins around the edge of my nail. I decided to leave the tip of my nail free.

It took about 20 minutes to do both hands, so it’s not too time consuming, but the effect is really cool. It can be varied, with different base colors and glitter colors. I think a white nail with rainbow colors could be really cool. Click on the blue blob to see how the other ladies was inspired by decorated edges.

Fancy Friday #1 – Blue Me Away

Hello again

First I want to apologize for the very long hiatus. It’s was not planned, but sort of just happened. After I started at the university I didn’t have much time and had to get used to the new environment. Things have started to settle down and I missed blogging, so now I’m back again.

To get back in the swing of things and to push my self a little bit, I joined a challenge or collaboration with a some other Danish nail bloggers. So every Friday I’m doing Fancy Friday. The first challenge is Blue Me Away.

I wanted to do something with studs and rhinestones, so I did a skittelette manicure, inspired by Martha from ChitChatNails. She actually invented this kind of manicure, with two accent nails.

I used Kiko 294 Indigo, China Glaze First Mate, Essence Fall For Me and Cult Nails Wicked Fast for the polishes. I then used little round silver studs from Born Pretty Store, square rhinestones from Cult Nails and Born Pretty Store, glequins in Marine from Recollections from Michael’s and finally a dotting tool also from Born Pretty Store.

I used First Mate on my index and pinky together with two studs on each finger. On my middle finger I used Fall For Me with a blue rhinestone ombre. On my ring finger I used Indigo topped with a full glitter nail of the glequins by placing them individually with the dotting tool.

I really loved this look and it was so fun to do. I hope you like it too. I hope you will check out what the other ladies have been up to by clicking on the little blue blob in the bottom. Some of them are going to be in Danish, but there will still be lots of pictures to look at 🙂

Dansk oversættelse: Denne uges udfordring var Blåt er Godt, så jeg valgte at lave en skittlette manicure med studs, rhinsten og glitter. Det var virkelig sjovt og jeg blev virkelig glad for denne manicure.
