Happy belated Friday. I’m a bit late with this weeks post, but I had a Confirmation on Friday, and forgot to schedule the post before I left in the morning.
This is an old manicure from 2013. I didn’t have time to do something new for this week that fit with the theme. I was not sure what the prompt meant, so I took it quite literally, and figured since a gradient is done with up and down motions it must count.
I used three of the polishes from the original 80’s Baby Collection from Different Dimension. On my index I have Ditz, the middle is Whatever and the pinky is Homeboy. The gradient is done with all three Ditz at the cuticle, Whatever in the middle and Homeboy at the tip. This was actually my very first gradient, so the color blending is not as great.

Happy almost Halloween. Todays theme is Halloween since it is Halloween tomorrow. I love Halloween, unfortunately we don’t celebrate it nearly as much as the US does.
I decided to do a skittlette with the gradient nail and glitter nail inspired by the Halloween post the Nailasaurus put up the other day. I started with one coat of Christian Louboutin Rouge Louboutin on my index and pinky, before doing a gradient with that color and OPI Black Onyx. On my middle and thumb and painted two coats of Wet n Wild French White Creme, before stamping using MoYou London Festive 15 and MoYou London Black Knight stamping polish. I placed a silver rhinestone in the center of the spiderweb for a little sparkle.
On my ring finger I was inspired by the black rhinestone nail, but unfortunately I didn’t have any small black rhinestones in my large stash of nail art accessories. I tried with the larger ones I had, but I didn’t like the look, so I pulled out some black glequins from Recollections and applied those. It is a bit hard to see in photos, since there is no holographicness to the glitters only shine, but it looks cool in real life.
Here is another shot of the spiderweb. It wasn’t until I pulled out the bottle of Rouge Louboutin from the box that I realized that the gradient of the bottle matched the gradient on my nails. Remember to click by the other ladies to see what they did for today.

Happy friday. Todays theme is texture gradient. The last time I did a texture gradient was back in April for the challenge. I looked through my untried texture polishes and found two that became my inspiration for todays nail art.
I started with three coats of OPI Diva of Geneva on my thumb, index and pinky nails, and two coats of the same polish on my middle and ring finger, just to have a base for the gradient. After letting that dry I applied liquid latex around my nails to protect my skin from the gradient. I used Kiko 454 Wine and Kiko 645 Burgundy for the gradient and sponged it on three times.
I looked through my stamping plates and found MoYou London Fashionista 07. I stamped using Barry M Gold Foil and my MoYou London Sticky XL Stamper. I didn’t quite get it centered on the nails, but I’m still working out how to stamp precisely on the nails. I left my pinky blank to create a skittlette. It really reminds me of fall and turning leaves. I love burgundy purples for fall. Click by the link in the bottom to see what the other ladies have come up with.

So I was a bit lost for ideas and didn’t really know what to do, but then I decided to do a gradient from dark to light, with a fading gradient on top.
I started with two coats of a England Fonteyn, a silvery lilac holographic. I just love the a England holographic polishes. The lighter colors are super soft in the holographic effect and not in your face, but still come out to play in the sun, where the darker holographic polishes are more edgy. Also the formula is buttery smooth and super opaque. I then did a gradient using a England Lady of the Lake and Fonteyn.
I finished the manicure off with a fading stamping done with a England Lady of the Lake and Bundle Monster BM-XL13 plate. The stamping turned out a little softer than I thought but I like it a lot. I like how it disappears into the darker color, but if you look closely in real life you can still see the pattern. The sun hid behind the clouds so the holographic effect is hidden.

So I’m back from vacation. It was two great and very hot weeks. I would not call the current Danish weather summer. It’s cloudy, windy and rainy most of the time, so it feels more like a fall day than the end of July. Hopefully the summer returns next week. I was inspired by a picture I took of a sunset in Florida back in 2009.
I just love the way the sunset colors blend together with the tiny hint of purple skies and the completely black palm trees in the front.
I started with two coats of China Glaze Happy Go Lucky, and then applied liquid latex around the nail to help with the clean up after the gradient. I did three coats of the gradient using OPI Live.Love.Carnaval closest to the cuticle, OPI Toucan Do It If You Try in the middle and the China Glaze at the tip.
After the base was dry I used a striping brush and black acrylic paint to paint the palm trees. I painted a stripe for the base, and four stripes for the base of the leaves. I then added tiny stripes to form the leaves. After the paint was dry I finished off with a coat of Poshe top coat. Remember to check out the other ladies by clicking on the blue frog.

So today we are inspired by festivals. I have never been to one, the whole idea does not attract me. If I was going I would definitely go to Coachella, just because the weather is great and the festival seems really clean and the music is more me. When I think of festivals I think tie die or gradients with tribal prints and metallic tattoos.
I was inspired by a manicure done by @badgirlnails on Instagram so I recreated that on my thumb, middle and ring finger nails. I started with two coats of China Glaze Highlight of My Summer and then did the gradient with the China Glaze, Mesauda Aquamarine, Appeal4 Hopley’s Hope and China Glaze Plur-ple. I then painted the Aztec print with a striper brush, a small detail brush and black acrylic paint.
For the nails with the metallic tattoo, I just cut out the tattoo, removed the clear film and applied it with the pattern face down on the nail. I then wet a cotton swab with water and pressed the water on the decal until it came off the white backing paper. I sealed everything in with a topcoat.
I really liked how the gradient turned out, the colors flowed smoothly into each other. Remember to click by the other ladies to see what they came up with for today’s theme.

We are continuing along the road of summer inspired nail art, today with nail art inspired by sand and/or water. The moment I saw this theme I knew what I was doing. Every since I saw Sarah from Chalkboard Nails Beauty and Beach Summer Nail art I have wanted to recreate it and today was the perfect occasion.
I started with a coat of OPI Alpine Snow on my thumb, ring and pinky. I then sponged on three coats of OPI Alpine Snow and Mesauda 81 Aquamarine. I then painted on the squiggly lines for the water reflection with Stripe Rite in white.
For the sand nails I started with three coats of Sally Hansen Malt. For the sand effect I mixed Malt with white and black and dotted them on with a small nail art brush. I decided not to add the starfish from Sarah’s nails because I liked the clean look of just the sand. Remember to check out the other girls by clicking on the frog.
