Fancy Friday #171 – Fall

Happy Friday. Todays theme is fall. We had some really great weather in Denmark considering the time of the year. Sunny days and high temperatures. I really like it.

I applied three coats of Illamasqua Charisma, a perfect fall burgundy shimmer, on my thumb, index, middle and ring finger nails. On my middle and ring finger I stamped a leaf pattern using Barry M Gold Foil and the MoYou Tropical 14 plate.

On my pinky I have two coats of OPI Black Onyx and two coats of Deborah Lippmann Ruby Red Slippers. I really loved the gold leaf stamping on top of the burgundy color.

Fancy Friday #169 – Danish summer

Happy Friday. Today’s theme is Danish summer. This the weather have been very rainy, at least for the most part. I was lucky enough to spend two weeks in the US and 4 days in Malaga, so I got some sunshine and warmth.

I choose to do a grey waterfall manicure to represent the grey skies and rain we had, but I added a touch of gold, to represent the days of sunshine. I started with three coats of Illamsqua Raindrops. I then did a waterfall manicure using OPI Black Onyx, Picture Polish Winter, a England Encore Margot and China Glaze I’m Not Lion.

Fancy Friday #145 – Inspired by a cake

Happy Friday. I’m finally feeling better again after the flu. Todays theme is cakes, I have previously done cupcakes and another nail art inspired by cakes, which can be seen here and here. I went to google, to get inspired for todays nail art, and scrolled through a lot of cakes before finding this one on Weddbook.com.

I really liked the different textures and designs on this cake, and could instantly see this done as a skittlette. I also found some other cakes, that I have saved in my inspiration folder, if I run out of ideas in the future.

I started with three coats of Wet n Wild French White Creme on my index and middle finger, before stamping with MoYou London Black Knight and MoYou London Holy Shapes 08 Plate. I turned the striped design on its side so the lines matched with the bottom tier of the cake. The didn’t stamp quite straight, even though I tried to stamp them on straight, and of course my index finger smudged a bit with the topcoat even though I waited a couple of minutes for it to dry.

On my middle finger nail I have two coats of Barry M Gold Foil, to represent the middle tier on the cake. On my pinky nail I painted two coats of Illamasqua Scorn, a beautiful matte/satin black polish. After that dried I dotted with Barry M Gold Foil and a medium large dotting tool. I left out the top coat on this nail to  have a contrast between the dots and the base, just like on the cake.

I did the same design on my thumb as my pinky. Remember to click by the other ladies to see what they did for today.

Fancy Friday #137 – Christmas tradition

Happy Friday. Today the theme is christmas traditions. In my family we have for a lot of years, cut down our own Christmas tree, around the middle of December. For the past couple of years, my mom and dad have been out-of-town on a christmas trip during the weekend we get our christmas tree, so it have been me and my sisters job to choose the tree. This Sunday we are getting a tree, so what was more fitting than to put on some christmas trees on my nails?

VDSC_1834

I started with three coats of Deborah Lippmann You Got Me Started, a dove grey creme. On my middle and ring finger, I painted an abstract christmas tree inspired by OhMyGoshPolish. I used Illamasqua Swinger topped with Different Dimension Sexy and I Know It on my middle finger. On my ring finger I did the christmas tree in OPI My Voice is a Little Norse. The stars are from Barry M Starlight. My pinky is topped with a coat of China Glaze Razzle Me Dazzle Me.

I think the christmas trees turned out really cute, I really like the holographic glitters, it adds a little extra. Remember to click by the other ladies to see what they did for today.

Fancy Friday #77 – Breast Cancer Awareness

Happy friday. Today in honor of breast cancer awareness month we are doing pink manicures. Two years ago before I started on the challenge I wore pink manicures for the entire month of October.

VDSC_0238

I was so happy with my leopard manicure from last week, that I decided to do the print again. Also a leopard is a really strong and fierce animal, something that all the ladies and men battling breast cancer or any other form of cancer is. I used two coats of Illamasqua Pink Raindrops for the base, China Glaze Put a Bow on It for the spots, and OPI Black Onyx for the outlines. On my index finger I used three coats of China Glaze Full Spectrum and a coat of OPI Pink Shatter from the Pink of Hearts collection from 2011. On my thumb and ring finger I used three coats of OPI More Than a Glimmer from the Pink of Hearts collection form last year.

VDSC_0223

If you want to help in the battle against breast cancer a lot of nail polish and make up companies make specific pink products where a percentage of the sale goes to research. I know OPI, Essie, China Glaze and Orly usually does a pink collection for the month of October. Click on the blue blob to see how the other ladies have used pink polishes this friday.
