Fancy Friday #149 – Fun and games

So I had no clue about todays theme, so I didn’t have a chance to do something new for this week. It’s April Fool’s day, so that inspired me a bit as well as the fun part of the challenge. I found some old manicures I hadn’t shown yet, so that will have to do for today.

The first manicure is done with Picture Polish Fool’s Gold and Zoya Vega. I stamped on top with Depend White Stamping Polish and Bundle Monster XL24. The name Fool’s Gold reminded me of April Fool’s.

This is a really old manicure, back from 2012. This was the manicure I wore for my birthday that year. What is more fun than a birthday? I used Sally Hansen Be-Jeweled and Color Club Eternal Beauty.

The last manicure, is my 4th of July manicure from last year. I love celebrating 4th of July, the food, fireworks and spending time with my family. This year I’m flying into Boston on the 4th, so hopefully we will get to see some fireworks. I used China Glaze First Mate on my index and stamped white stars from Bundle Monster XL23, the middle is Orly Star Spangled and the white stripes are also from the XL23 plate. On the ring finger I have the american flag hand painted. The pinky is OPI Alpine Snow and Dollish Polish It’s a Me Mario.

Fancy Friday #122 – Dreams

I immediately thought of dream catchers when I saw todays theme, so I created a little skittlette in purple and mint.

I was inspired for my dream catcher nail by Will Paint Nails for Food. I started with three coats of Happy Hands Lady Goodman on my index and pinky nail. Happy Hands unfortunately closed down their shop last year, but her polishes was really pretty. I used three coats of Barry M Sugar Apple for my thumb, middle and ring finger nails. I then used a small brush and black acrylic paint for the dream catcher. The feathers are done with OPI Hello Hawaii Ya? and OPI Lost My Bikini in Molokini. The pearls are Different Dimension Quasar, Dance Legend Thermo 167 and Picture Polish Lagoon.

On my thumb and middle nail and found a stamping plate that had different feather and bird images on and choose a larger full nail feather stamp. I used the MoYou London Tropical Collection plate 16 and Depend Black stamping polish. I finished off with a coat of Poshe top coat. Unfortunately the sun had chosen to go away right when I needed to take the pictures so the holographic effect of some of the pearls and the glitter on the index and pinky is lost. Remember to click by the other ladies to see what they have done for today.

#WeekendOffNailArtChallenge – Day 8 Green

Today’s theme is green. I was partly inspired for this manicure by the name of the polish I chose to use.

I decided to use Picture Polish Honeymoon by Manicurator. At first I wanted to do chevrons on all of my nails, but then I was inspired by the name to also incorporate something wedding-y. For the negative space single chevron on my ring and thumb I used NailVinyls and three coats of Honeymoon. I added studs from BornPrettyStore. On the rest of my fingers I also did three coats of Honeymoon and then stamped with MoYou London Bridal 07 and Depend White Stamping polish.

Honeymoon is a really pretty minty green polish with blue/pink shimmer and scattered holographic bits. I really like this polish and the contrast between the studs and the lace stamp was fun.

Fancy Friday #94 – Valentines Day

Happy early Valentines Day. I don’t celebrate the day, but I don’t mind eating chocolates and wearing pink on my nails. I did a pink, red and silver water marble. Last year for our Valentines Day prompt, I also did a water marble.

I started with two coats of OPI Don’t Bossa Nova Me Around, I then applied a coat of liquid latex around my nails and under my finger. It made the cleanup process so much easier and it dried much faster than glue. Only thing to be aware of is not to touch your fingers together because the liquid latex will stick together. I used OPI Don’t Bossa Nova Me Around, Barry M Silver Foil, Different Dimension HO3, Picture Polish Grace and Revlon Passionate Pink.

My first plan was to stamp with different Valentines Day motives, but I liked how the water marble turned out, so I didn’t want to cover it up. I had some tiny bubbles on my middle finger that I covered up using a lip stamp from MoYou London Hipster 07 and Depend Black Stamping polish.

Fancy Friday #85 – Inspired by christmas food

Hello everybody, hope your december is going good without too much stress. I’m working away on my project, but have bought almost all of my christmas gifts and just today I bought the last things I needed for wrapping them. Well today we are getting inspired by christmas foods, but I wasn’t really in the mood to put actual food items in my nails like a roast, so I went with candy instead.

On my index, middle and pinky I started with two coats of OPI Alpine Snow. After letting that dry I stamped using MoYou London Festive 03 and a England Perceval. On my index I have candy canes, on my middle a peppermint swirl and on my pinky candy cane stripes. On my ring and thumbs I applied three coats of Picture Polish LakoDom and stamped snowflakes on top using Cult Nails Nakizzle’s Shizzle. I know you don’t eat snowflakes (but it is fun to catch them with your tongue :)) but they represent snowflake sugar cookies, which are super cute.

Next week we are getting inspired by christmas presents and I already have an amazing idea that involves more stamping. I can’t wait to see if it actually turns out like I imagine in my head. Click on the blue blob to see what the other ladies have come up with.

Fancy Friday #69 – Untried with a royal theme

Today our theme is untried, this could either be polish or a specific technique. I wasn’t really eager to try a new technique and also had no idea what it should be since I have tried a lot already, so I decided on pulling out some untried polishes.  Truth be told I have a lot of untried polishes, but I always aim to use at least one untried polish when I do a new manicure, to work my way through them. When looking through my stash list I found that I had some polishes with a theme in common.

All of these polishes have something tying to royals in the name, so I thought why not do a skittle manicure with a theme? On my index I have three coats of Butter London No More Waity, Katie, named after Kate Middleton. On my index I have two coats of Catrice Purple Reign, I stamped a crown on top using MoYou London Pro 05 and a white stamping polish from Depend. On my ring finger I’m wearing three coats of Picture Polish Imperial and on my pinky I have two coats of OPI Miss You-Niverse(this was just a base color so it doesn’t really have anything to do with the theme) with a coat of Essence Space Queen on top.

On my thumb I’m also wearing two coats of the OPI color and a coat of Glam Polish Fairy Princess Gru. Luckily all the polishes was in the same color family, so it doesn’t look to crazy mixed together. I was a little surprised when I looked through my untried polishes that these had a connecting theme, but it made it a little more fun than just 5 random polishes. Click on the blue blob to see what the other ladies have come up with.
