Today’s theme is orange. I long time ago, a theme in Fancy Friday was sideway french – click here to see that. I still love that manicure. To not just do a plain swatch I decided to do a sideway french dotted manicure with orange shades.
I started with two coats of OPI Alpine Snow. I then added dots using two different sized dotting tools, even though the almost turned out the same size on the nail. I used OPI Toucan Do It If You Try, China Glaze Sun of a Peach, Kiko Apricot and Models Own Copper Pot to get a little sparkle.
I really liked how the sideway french dots looked. It was super easy to do, and a twist on the more classic dotted french tip. I’m not a huge fan of orange, but a little orange on a white base was quite nice.

Today I have a very awesome manicure if I have to say it myself. I really loved how it turned out. Todays theme is sideway french, which is essentially a french tip turned on its side.
This manicure was so hard to take photos of because not all pictures would depict how pretty it looks in real life. Straightforward you can almost not see the french tip that peeks out and it just look black, but if you turn your fingers to the side you can.
I love the little surprise that comes when you turn your hand. I used three layers of OPI Goldeneye, a super pretty flakelike gold, that almost look like foil and is super sparkly and shiny. The gold is more yellow, but I still love it. I added french tip guides on the side of the nail and painted a coat of Illamasqua Scorn over one nail at a time while removing the tip guide quickly after the polish is applied. Scorn dries to a rubber finish, which almost looks like leather because of the slight texture the gold polish have.
I will try this combo for a ruffian manicure soon, because I think it will look just as awesome. To see what the other ladies chose for their color combo click on the blue blob in the bottom 🙂
