Fancy Friday #125 – Chocolate nails

I was completely lost when I saw today’s theme. I actually considered just putting on a brown polish and calling it a day, but after a little thought and a lot of googling, I remembered that I had some gold leaf foil that I hadn’t tried, so the nails are inspired by the gold wrapping paper on some chocolates.

I started with three coats of OPI How Great Is Your Dane? and while the third coat was still tacky I tore up some of the foil into smaller pieces and placed it on the nail using tweezers. I pressed the foil down with my fingers to secure it, and finished off with topcoat. On my pinky I have two coats of Nails Inc Sugar House Lane, just to add something different.

I really liked how it turned out, and while I normally do not wear brown polishes I like the gold/brown combo. Remember to click on the link to see what the other ladies came up with.

I dag er temaet chokolade, og jeg vidste slet ikke hvad jeg ville lave, men jeg havde noget bladguld liggende som mindede mig om papiret på fyldte chokolader. Husk at klikke forbi de andre for at se hvad de har lavet.

Fancy Friday #113 – Sand and Water

We are continuing along the road of summer inspired nail art, today with nail art inspired by sand and/or water. The moment I saw this theme I knew what I was doing. Every since I saw Sarah from Chalkboard Nails Beauty and Beach Summer Nail art I have wanted to recreate it and today was the perfect occasion.

I started with a coat of OPI Alpine Snow on my thumb, ring and pinky. I then sponged on three coats of OPI Alpine Snow and Mesauda 81 Aquamarine. I then painted on the squiggly lines for the water reflection with Stripe Rite in white.

For the sand nails I started with three coats of Sally Hansen Malt. For the sand effect I mixed Malt with white and black and dotted them on with a small nail art brush. I decided not to add the starfish from Sarah’s nails because I liked the clean look of just the sand. Remember to check out the other girls by clicking on the frog.

Fancy Friday #36 – Naked

Today we are doing naked nails, so I wanted to show you what my completely naked nails look like, as well as a nude polish look.

VDSC_1661

I am not wearing any polish in this photo, not even the Rejuvacote that I’m holding, just so you can see what my nails look like without polish. I’m wearing polish 99% of the time. Only time they are naked is between changing polish, and how long that is depend on how busy I am.

VDSC_1686

Here is how you can wear polish, if you are not into strong colors or have to wear a nude or conservative color for work. On my index, middle and pinky I’m wearing three coats of Zoya Godiva, the prettiest nude texture polish with silver sparkle. This color is so pretty and sparkly. On my ring finger I’m wearing two coats of OPI My Very First Knockwurst and a coat of Deborah Lippmann Boom Boom Pow. This look is sparkly, while still being nude and not in your face.

Check out the other ladies nude look, I know some of them also showed their naked nails.

Den første udfordring i det nye år er naked. Jeg valgte en nude tekstur lak fra Zoya og en lys pink med guld glimmer over. Tjek de andre tøsers blogs ud, jeg ved at der er andre der har vist deres nøgne negle.

Fancy Friday #4 – Animal Print

Hi

Today’s Fancy Friday theme is Animal Print. This was my first time doing any animal print, but I have wanted to do leopard nail art for a while. Tuesday or actually more like Wednesday morning my group handed in our project to the Copy Central for printing, so Monday we will be handing it in, before going to a summerhouse for 4 days to prepare a bit for the exam. I have worked an average of 13 hours a day for 1 week, so I have just spent the last 3 days doing almost nothing.

I loved the result, and cannot wait to do it again with a different color combo. I don’t know where leopards with holographic glitter spots live, but I want to see them 😉

VDSC_0437

I used Sally Hansen Malt as the base from the Tracey Reese collection for Spring 2011, I used China Glaze I’m Not Lion (get it… It’s leopard 😉 for the spots made with a dottingtool and China Glaze Liquid Leather for the outline made with a small brush from BornPrettyStore. I used the Dry Drops from Sephora before using Cult Nails Wicked Fast to prevent smudging.

Next weeks theme is Glitterbomb, and I already have something in mind. Click on the blue blob to check out what the other ladies did for Animal Print.

Denne uge var dyreprint, og jeg valgte at lave leopard spots. De blev vildt fine, jeg elsker glimmeren. Klik på den blå blob for at se hvad de andre har fundet på i denne uge.

Christian Dior – Dusty Rose

This polish is really old. I got it from my aunt a few years ago together with some other Dior and Lancôme polishes. It’s a very pretty nude. I think this was two coats, and the polish is nice and self-leveling. I would never buy such and expensive polish on my own, that’s too much money for one polish, so I’m glad it got it as a present. It held up pretty good, it lasted me packing my suitcase, hauling it up and down stairs in London before it chipped after 3 days wear.
