Fancy Friday #171 – Fall

Happy Friday. Todays theme is fall. We had some really great weather in Denmark considering the time of the year. Sunny days and high temperatures. I really like it.

vdsc_0647

I applied three coats of Illamasqua Charisma, a perfect fall burgundy shimmer, on my thumb, index, middle and ring finger nails. On my middle and ring finger I stamped a leaf pattern using Barry M Gold Foil and the MoYou Tropical 14 plate.

vdsc_0650

On my pinky I have two coats of OPI Black Onyx and two coats of Deborah Lippmann Ruby Red Slippers. I really loved the gold leaf stamping on top of the burgundy color.

Fancy Friday #170 – Ocean

Happy Friday. Today the theme is the ocean, specifically the Mediterranean.

vdsc_1238

I found a manicure I hadn’t posted yet, that fit into this theme. I used two coats of Barry M Sky Blue and two coats of Revlon Whimsical. The color represent the ocean, while the blue and pink glitter can be the seashells. The white stamping is how the sunlight catches the reflection of the water. The stamping is from the Bundle Monster XL16 plate.

Fancy Friday #167 – Recreate your first nail art

Happy Friday. Today we are recreating our first nail art. I chose the nail art I did for the very first Fancy Friday many many Fridays ago. I updated it a little bit, and I think it turned out so good.

Here is the original manicure, and just click here, to be taken to the original blogpost.

VDSC_0609

I have two coats of China Glaze First Mate on my index and pinky, and two studs. I switched the sides I placed them on. On my middle I have three coats of Barry M Sky Blue, because I destashed the Essence polish I used. Instead of the rhinestones I did a little stamping using MoYou London Pro XL14 and MoYou London White Knight. On my ring finger I have three coats of Kiko 294 Indigo and some round blue iridescent glequins from BornPrettyStore.

Fancy Friday #147 – Easter Nails

Happy Friday. Easter is only a couple of days away, so Easter is our theme for today. I didn’t really know what to do, but after googling around a bit I found this manicure by SoNailicious and completely stole it, because it was so cute and simply.

VDSC_0011

I started out with three coats of each of the polishes I used. On my index I have Barry M Rose Hip, the middle is Essie Lilacism (the purple version). The ring finger is Barry M Sugar Apple and the pinky is Barry M Sky Blue. I topped that with a coat of Ninja Polish He Went To Jarred. I dapped some more flakes on, on the sparser areas. I topped that off with a coat of Poshe top coat to dry the manicure fast and even out the surface.

VDSC_0018

On my thumb I have three coats of Barry M Peach Melba, as well as a coat of Ninja Polish He Went To Jarred.

VDSC_0038

I topped the manicure with OPI Matte Top Coat, after everything was dry. The matte top coat allowed the white gold flakes to stand out more, as well as make the pastel colors a bit more muted. Remember to click by the other ladies to see what they did for today.

Fancy Friday #145 – Inspired by a cake

Happy Friday. I’m finally feeling better again after the flu. Todays theme is cakes, I have previously done cupcakes and another nail art inspired by cakes, which can be seen here and here. I went to google, to get inspired for todays nail art, and scrolled through a lot of cakes before finding this one on Weddbook.com.

I really liked the different textures and designs on this cake, and could instantly see this done as a skittlette. I also found some other cakes, that I have saved in my inspiration folder, if I run out of ideas in the future.

VDSC_2128

I started with three coats of Wet n Wild French White Creme on my index and middle finger, before stamping with MoYou London Black Knight and MoYou London Holy Shapes 08 Plate. I turned the striped design on its side so the lines matched with the bottom tier of the cake. The didn’t stamp quite straight, even though I tried to stamp them on straight, and of course my index finger smudged a bit with the topcoat even though I waited a couple of minutes for it to dry.

VDSC_2138

On my middle finger nail I have two coats of Barry M Gold Foil, to represent the middle tier on the cake. On my pinky nail I painted two coats of Illamasqua Scorn, a beautiful matte/satin black polish. After that dried I dotted with Barry M Gold Foil and a medium large dotting tool. I left out the top coat on this nail to  have a contrast between the dots and the base, just like on the cake.

VDSC_2145

I did the same design on my thumb as my pinky. Remember to click by the other ladies to see what they did for today.

Fancy Friday #143 – Marbling

Happy Friday from snowy Austria. I’m on my last day of our skiing vacation, I had such a great time here this past week, and I don’t wanna go home to my everyday life. I did these nails the day before I left, and after the first day of skiing with gloves on, the white nails had turned cream-colored, and after a couple of days the silver stamping and the silver glitter had a gold hue. I don’t know what happened, I have never had a nail polish turn a different color on me, after a couple of days of wear.

VDSC_2068

I went the easy route for this nail art, since I didn’t have a lot of time to complete it. I saw this technique on OhMyGoshPolish on YouTube and it was so simple. I painted two coats of H&M Mauve It on my thumb, index and pinky nail and three coats of Wet n Wild French White Creme on my middle and ring finger. I stamped with Barry M Silver Foil and MoYou London Holy Shapes 08 plate on the thumb and index nails, and I painted two coats of Essie Silver Bullions on my pinky nail. For the marble dots on my middle and ring finger, I just swirled Mauve It and French White Creme together without blending it all the way, and then I just dipped my dotting tool in the colors and dotted it on my nails.

VDSC_2082

Opening and closing ski boots and carrying ski’s lead to three breaks on my nails, so they look a little wonky, because I refuse to file them all the way down. I have to think about next week, because that theme is Bollywood, and I’m not sure what to do. Remember to click by the other ladies to see what they did for today.

Fancy Friday #141 – Mardi Gras

Hello and happy Friday. We took a little break in the Fancy Friday group to renew our energy, but now we are back. In Denmark we have a tradition called Fastelavn  where kids dress up in costumes and go from door to door, like a Danish Halloween, but without the scary part. So since that falls on this sunday we decided for this to be our theme for this week.

VDSC_2031

The first thing I thought of was dressing up, which lead my brain to carnivals which in turn landed me on Mardi Gras. The colors of Mardi Gras is gold/yellow, green and purple, so I did a simple striping/fire works manicure with those three colors.

VDSC_2035

For the base I used three coats of Wet n Wild French White Creme, and free-handed the lines using a striping brush and Barry M Gold Foil for the gold, Wet n Wild Buffy the Violet Slayer for the purple and Kiko 531 Pearly Green Butterfly for the green. This is super simple and super fast to do, and it can be varied with different colors and finishes.

VDSC_2045

A couple of years ago I was in New Orleans, although not for Mardi Gras, but we brought home some Mardi Gras beads, so they had to be included in a photo with these nails, since they match so well. Remember to click by the other ladies to see what they did for today.

Fancy Friday #140 – NYE Nails

Happy New Year. I hope you all had a great night and jumped safe into the new year, with all fingers and nails. On this very first day of the year I have my NYE nails for you.

VDSC_1944

I started with two coats of OPI Ink Suede on my thumb, middle and ring finger. On my ring finger I topped the polish with two coats of Deborah Lippmann Va Va Voom. On my index and pinky I painted three coats of a England Wuthering Heights, before stamping a zig zag pattern using Barry M Silver Foil and MoYou London Fashionista plate 04.

VDSC_1929

I can’t wait to see what nail art, trends and nail polish this year has in store for us and trying some of them out. Remember to click by the other ladies to see what they wore on the last day of 2015.

Fancy Friday #138 – Christmas baubles

Happy Friday. I had my last exam of the semester today, so now I’m on break until the end of January woohoo 🙂 The theme today is christmas decoration, and what is more christmas like than baubles? We are going to be decorating the three this weekend, which is one of my favorite things about christmas.

VDSC_1897

Today’s manicure is completely stolen from The Nail Network who did this manicure back in 2013. I started with three coats of a England Cathy, I could probably have stopped at two, but I felt like I could see my nail through the polish with two coats. I applied a topcoat on top since I would be using textured polish on top of that. The baubles are painted with different textured polishes and a small flat brush to get the right curve.

VDSC_1881

The bauble on the index is done with Barry M Countess, the middle is Kiko 457 Royal Blue, ringfinger is OPI Honey Ryder and the pinky is done with Kiko 458 Anthracite. The string and base is done with a small striper brush and OPI My Signature is “DC”

VDSC_1890

On my thumb I did the bauble in Kiko 454 Wine. I really like the difference in finish, and it was a super quick and simply manicure to done, so big thumbs up to Chelsea from The Nail Network for thinking of this. I’m sad she doesn’t really blog anymore, because her nail art was really good. Remember to click by to see what the other ladies have come up with.

God fredag.

Fancy Friday #137 – Christmas tradition

Happy Friday. Today the theme is christmas traditions. In my family we have for a lot of years, cut down our own Christmas tree, around the middle of December. For the past couple of years, my mom and dad have been out-of-town on a christmas trip during the weekend we get our christmas tree, so it have been me and my sisters job to choose the tree. This Sunday we are getting a tree, so what was more fitting than to put on some christmas trees on my nails?

VDSC_1834

I started with three coats of Deborah Lippmann You Got Me Started, a dove grey creme. On my middle and ring finger, I painted an abstract christmas tree inspired by OhMyGoshPolish. I used Illamasqua Swinger topped with Different Dimension Sexy and I Know It on my middle finger. On my ring finger I did the christmas tree in OPI My Voice is a Little Norse. The stars are from Barry M Starlight. My pinky is topped with a coat of China Glaze Razzle Me Dazzle Me.

VDSC_1853

I think the christmas trees turned out really cute, I really like the holographic glitters, it adds a little extra. Remember to click by the other ladies to see what they did for today.
