Fancy Friday #172 – Rainbow

Happy Friday. Todays theme is rainbow. I had this specific idea for a manicure in my head ever since I purchased these polishes last year, and finally had an opportunity to do it.

vdsc_0653

I have three coats of OPI This Gown Needs a Crown on my thumb, index and pinky. On my middle finger nail I have two coats of OPI My Signature is “DC” as the base for the water marble and three coats of Floss Gloss Dimepiece on my ring finger. I accidentally dipped the ring finger in the water, but the effect turned out really great.

vdsc_0668

The water marble is done with all of the OPI Color Paints polishes – Magenta Muse, Chromatic Orange, Primarily Yellow, Landscape Artist, Turquoise Aesthetic, Indigo Motif, Purple Perspective and Pen & Pink. I just dropped the polishes in without making a design before dipping in my finger. It turned out exactly as I had imagined. I’m definitely going to be using these polishes for a water marble again.

Fancy Friday #169 – Danish summer

Happy Friday. Today’s theme is Danish summer. This the weather have been very rainy, at least for the most part. I was lucky enough to spend two weeks in the US and 4 days in Malaga, so I got some sunshine and warmth.

vdsc_0637

I choose to do a grey waterfall manicure to represent the grey skies and rain we had, but I added a touch of gold, to represent the days of sunshine. I started with three coats of Illamsqua Raindrops. I then did a waterfall manicure using OPI Black Onyx, Picture Polish Winter, a England Encore Margot and China Glaze I’m Not Lion.

Fancy Friday #159 – Holographic

Happy belated friday. Time escaped from me yesterday, even though I did these nails thursday night. The weather have been sunny so what better time than now to bust out the holographic polishes.

VDSC_0252

I did a water marble with a touch of holographic. I started with three coats of Essie Hubby for Dessert. I water marbled with that, Essie Bangle Jangle, OPI Sleigh Parking Only and Appeal4 Marsmallow Holo. I drew a petal design in it and dipped my nails.

VDSC_0250

The pattern turned out really nice, and the pop of holographic really comes out the play in the sun. It has been a while since I have water marbled, so it was nice to do it again, even though it takes a while and is a little messy.

Fancy Friday #157 – Summer

Happy friday. Summer is almost here, at least the temperatures are high and the sun is shining most of the time, I love it. I have been outside in the sun for as long as possible, to soak up as many sun rays as possible before they leave us again.

VDSC_0227

I did another dry brush manicure for the base of the nail art. It is so easy and fast and looks really good. I started with two coats of OPI Don’t Bossa Nova Me Around. Then I dry brushed using China Glaze Glow With the Flow, OPI Kiss Me I’m Brazilian and China Glaze Feel The Breeze. I then stamped a flamingo pattern on top using MoYou London Tropical 16 plate and MoYou London White Knight.

VDSC_0229

I have wanted to do flamingo nail art for the past couple of months but never had an occasion to do it, but I thought the pink color of the flamingo is very summery and flamingos also remind me of Florida, the Sunshine State.

Fancy Friday #155 – Go-to Mani

Happy friday. We have had the most wonderful weather in Denmark the past week, sunshine and high temperatures everyday. Todays theme is our go-to manicure.

VDSC_0186

When I don’t know what to do, I usually just go for a skittlette manicure. It doesn’t take too long to complete and the different designs and textures makes it interesting to look at for a longer time. I started with three coats of OPI Chiffon My Mind on my thumb, index, middle and pinky fingers. I left the index and pinky nails alone.

VDSC_0197

For my thumb and middle finger nails, I stamped using MoYou London Black Knight and MoYou London Pro XL 06 plate. That floral pattern is my favorite stamping pattern, and I have used it many times, when I don’t know what else to use. On my ring finger I have two coats of OPI Ce-less-tial is More.

VDSC_0191

This manicure turned out super clean and summery. Remember to click by the other ladies to see what they did for today.

I dag er temaet go to mani.

Fancy Friday #154 – Flowers

When I did these nails in the beginning of the week, I didn’t know that the theme for today was going to be flowers, but it ended up fitting perfectly with these nails.

VDSC_0053

I started with three coats of China Glaze Pack Lightly on my thumb and index, this polish does not have the greatest formula and is quite streaky, but the color is really pretty with gold shimmer running through. I stamped with MoYou London Pro Xl14. On the middle and ring finger nail I painted three coats of OPI That’s Hula-rious and stamped with MoYou London Tropical 14. The stamping polish is MoYou London White Knight.

VDSC_0069

On my pinky I have two coats of Wet n Wild French White Creme and a coat of Happy Hands Flowers On The Highway. The MoYou London stamping polishes are really good, and stamps really pretty. They don’t have a weird smell and are easy to clean off the stamper, plate and your fingers. Remember to click by the other ladies to see what they did for today.

Fancy Friday #149 – Fun and games

So I had no clue about todays theme, so I didn’t have a chance to do something new for this week. It’s April Fool’s day, so that inspired me a bit as well as the fun part of the challenge. I found some old manicures I hadn’t shown yet, so that will have to do for today.

VDSC_1318

The first manicure is done with Picture Polish Fool’s Gold and Zoya Vega. I stamped on top with Depend White Stamping Polish and Bundle Monster XL24. The name Fool’s Gold reminded me of April Fool’s.

VDSC_0935

This is a really old manicure, back from 2012. This was the manicure I wore for my birthday that year. What is more fun than a birthday? I used Sally Hansen Be-Jeweled and Color Club Eternal Beauty.

VDSC_1445

The last manicure, is my 4th of July manicure from last year. I love celebrating 4th of July, the food, fireworks and spending time with my family. This year I’m flying into Boston on the 4th, so hopefully we will get to see some fireworks. I used China Glaze First Mate on my index and stamped white stars from Bundle Monster XL23, the middle is Orly Star Spangled and the white stripes are also from the XL23 plate. On the ring finger I have the american flag hand painted. The pinky is OPI Alpine Snow and Dollish Polish It’s a Me Mario.

Remember to click by the other ladies, who have been more creative than me today.

Fancy Friday #148 – Nimbus nail art

Happy Good Friday. I hope you had a good week and is enjoying the Easter break. Today we are doing Nimbus or Halo nail art. The original artist behind this technique is Sammy from The Nailasaurus. You can see the last time I did Nimbus nail art right here. It was in the same color scheme as this time, but that was not on purpose.

VDSC_0051

I did three coats of Appeal4 Out of this World on my thumb and index nail. On the other nails I started out with two coats of Wet n Wild French White Creme. On my pinky I topped that with one coat of Kiko 230 Sparkle Touch Rainbow Glitter. It is a little hard to see, but it is an iridescent glitter. For the Nimbus nails I used OPI Planks a Lot, Kiko 504 Pearly Glaze Pink, Different Dimension Aria, H&M Marsala Chai and Appeal4 Out of this World, and just layered them.

VDSC_0058

The last couple of days the sun have been shining, but of course it is raining the day I need to take photos, so the holographic polish on my index didn’t show up as well, so here is a flash photo to show the holographicness. Remember to click by the other ladies to see what they did for today.

Fancy Friday #147 – Easter Nails

Happy Friday. Easter is only a couple of days away, so Easter is our theme for today. I didn’t really know what to do, but after googling around a bit I found this manicure by SoNailicious and completely stole it, because it was so cute and simply.

VDSC_0011

I started out with three coats of each of the polishes I used. On my index I have Barry M Rose Hip, the middle is Essie Lilacism (the purple version). The ring finger is Barry M Sugar Apple and the pinky is Barry M Sky Blue. I topped that with a coat of Ninja Polish He Went To Jarred. I dapped some more flakes on, on the sparser areas. I topped that off with a coat of Poshe top coat to dry the manicure fast and even out the surface.

VDSC_0018

On my thumb I have three coats of Barry M Peach Melba, as well as a coat of Ninja Polish He Went To Jarred.

VDSC_0038

I topped the manicure with OPI Matte Top Coat, after everything was dry. The matte top coat allowed the white gold flakes to stand out more, as well as make the pastel colors a bit more muted. Remember to click by the other ladies to see what they did for today.

Fancy Friday #144 – Bollywood

Happy Friday. I’m back home again, but have unfortunately been hit by the flu, so today’s nail art is rather quick and simply. The theme for today is Bollywood.

VDSC_2116

I started with three coats of OPI Love.Angel.Music.Baby. This polish dries to a satin finish. After letting that dry I stamped using the MoYou London Bridal 07 plate and MoYou London Black Knight.

VDSC_2109

This pattern reminds me of the henna tattoos some women will have in Bollywood movies. If I wasn’t sick and had better time for this manicure, I would have colored in some of the areas with a sheer polish to add some color to the manicure, but I like the black and gold as well. Remember to click by the other ladies to see what they did for today.
