Fancy Friday #158 – Graphic nail art

Happy friday. I had my first exam today, and came out with an A. I had not expected this great of a grade, since it was a really hard exam and I would be happy if I just passed the exam. Today we are doing graphic nail art.

I had another idea in mind, but because of the exam, I had to be something quick to do. I started out with two coats of Color Club Eternal Beauty, a purple holographic polish, that really shines in sunlight. I stamped with MoYou London White Knight and MoYou London Hipster 07 plate. The stamping was a little hard to transfer because of the thin lines.

Fancy Friday #149 – Fun and games

So I had no clue about todays theme, so I didn’t have a chance to do something new for this week. It’s April Fool’s day, so that inspired me a bit as well as the fun part of the challenge. I found some old manicures I hadn’t shown yet, so that will have to do for today.

VDSC_1318

The first manicure is done with Picture Polish Fool’s Gold and Zoya Vega. I stamped on top with Depend White Stamping Polish and Bundle Monster XL24. The name Fool’s Gold reminded me of April Fool’s.

This is a really old manicure, back from 2012. This was the manicure I wore for my birthday that year. What is more fun than a birthday? I used Sally Hansen Be-Jeweled and Color Club Eternal Beauty.

The last manicure, is my 4th of July manicure from last year. I love celebrating 4th of July, the food, fireworks and spending time with my family. This year I’m flying into Boston on the 4th, so hopefully we will get to see some fireworks. I used China Glaze First Mate on my index and stamped white stars from Bundle Monster XL23, the middle is Orly Star Spangled and the white stripes are also from the XL23 plate. On the ring finger I have the american flag hand painted. The pinky is OPI Alpine Snow and Dollish Polish It’s a Me Mario.

Remember to click by the other ladies, who have been more creative than me today.

Fancy Friday #142 – Love

Happy Friday everyone. Since we are only two days away from Valentines Day, the theme for this Friday is love. I was in a bit of a hurry with this manicure, since I’m currently on my way on a skirt, so I repurposed or updated my existing manicure. I actually have another idea in mind for another pink/red manicure, so that will probably be up when I get home from vacation.

VDSC_2050

My original manicure had three coats of Color Club Hot-Hot-Hot Pants on my index and middle finger, so I added some nail vinyls from Twinkled T and painted a coat of China Glaze Strawberry Fields over it, to add a little love. On my ring finger I have three coats of Wet n Wild French White Creme and I stamped using MoYou London Black Knight and MoYou London Fashionista plate 05. On my pinky I have three coats of a England Merlin to add a little glitter

VDSC_2065

On my thumb I have the same chevron pattern as on my ring finger. I really enjoy these skittlette manicures, not only because I get to wear multiple polishes and textures, but it makes the manicure more interesting to look at, than if it was just one color or one nail art technique. Remember to click by the other ladies to see what they have done for today.

Fancy Friday #57 – Fashion

Hello and happy Friday. I’m on the very last days of my project work, we are handing in Monday at noon. Today we are inspired by fashion. We used the same theme back in October, click here to see what I did back then. Today I was inspired by my own closet, more specifically a blazer from H&M New Icons.

VDSC_0175

It has on off white base, with blue/purple streaks and black streaks. The lapel is in dark blue faux leather and it also has piping details in the same blue faux leather.

VDSC_0154

I started out with three coats of OPI My Vampire Is Buff. After that dried I used the distressed nail art effect by Sarah from Chalkboard Nails. I started with Color Club Total Mystery, a blue/purple shimmer using the distressed technique. After that dried a little bit, I did the same with Nails Inc Serena, a black creme. I finished off with a coat of HK Girl top coat. On my ring finger I used two coats of Catrice How I Matt Your Mother, a dark purple, with a matte leather finish, to match the leather lapel.

The nails turned out exactly like I imagined in my head, and they match the blazer perfectly. Click on the blue blob in the bottom, to see what fashion the other ladies was inspired by.

I dag er temaet mode.

Christmas manicure 2013

Happy New Year. Here is my very belated christmas manicure of 2013, on the very last day of this year. Have a safe and happy new years eve, and I will see you on the other side 🙂

VDSC_1603

I used three coats of China Glaze Champagne Kisses on my index, and stamped little reindeer from MoYou London with Color Club Cop An Attitude. On my middle finger I did three coats of China Glaze This Is Tree-mendous and stamped christmas trees on top with a-England Saint George. On my ring finger I used three coats of Essie Beyond Cosy and stamped with Saint George, Essie Penny Talk and Essence Red-y To Go. Unfortunately the stamp did not show up well at all. On my pinky I did two coats of OPI My Vampire is Buff and 1 1/2 coat of Different Dimension Don’t Be The Santa of Everything.

VDSC_1623

On my thumb I did two coats of Essence Red-y To Go and topped it with Foxy Paws Love That Jumper, which contains little snowmen, so cute. They actually lay pretty flat, so I didn’t feel the need to pick at them. The reindeer didn’t show up that well either, next time I will do colors that are a bit farther apart, when doing a glitter base.

Fancy Friday #35 – Happy New Years

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. I was a bit more busy than I thought with plans on the 23rd, 24th, 25th and 26th, so I didn’t get to show you my Christmas manicure, but I think I will have time tomorrow to check in. Did you get any good gifts?

Today the theme is New Years. My plan didn’t turn quite out like I planned, since the colors didn’t show up as well on the dark base. I started with two coats of Color Club Revvolution, a dark grey/black holo. I then stamped with my MoYou London Festive plate 5.

VDSC_1629

On my index I used Color Club Eternal Beauty and the hanging tinsel/confetti stamp. On my middle finger I used the fire works stamp, but I didn’t transfer completely because I was not fast enough. On my ring finger I used another more abstract fireworks design  and the same with my pinky. I will do something else on actual new years, and hopefully I will not be doing this last-minute, so I will have time to check in. Maybe some sort of glitter gradient that matches the skirt I’m going to wear.

Fancy Friday #30 – Galaxy Manicure

Today we are going on a trip into outer space. I have had a super busy week, so these nail was not made until yesterday afternoon. At that point I had worn last weeks fancy friday nails for a week. They were quite chipped and had lost a couple of rhinestones.

VDSC_1477

I started with a coat of Nails Inc Serena, a black creme. When that was touch dry I sponged on OPI Russian Navy. It’s didn’t really show up on the nails but added some shimmer. I then sponged on Orly Sweet Peacock, a medium foil blue. Then I sponged on Color Club Alias, a purple shimmer with some gold, green and pink duochrome-ness. After that I went in with Cult Nails Bad D.N but that did not show up on the black base, so I grabbed China Glaze When Stars Collide from their Holographic collection and sponged that on.

VDSC_1482

After that I pulled out a little bit of Gosh Holographic Hero, to create some grey areas. Finally I used a small nail art brush and China Glaze White on White to create the small stars by dotting and painting the larger stars on. After letting it dry so I didn’t smear anything I first did a coat of INM Northern Lights, a holographic glitter topcoat and finally a coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast. I love the finished result. I was a little scared that it was not as easy as it seemed when others do it, but it totally is. Just keep layering colors in different areas of the nail. Check out the others galaxies but clicking on the blue blob.
