Fancy Friday #166 – Neon

Happy friday. I just came home from a little extra vacation in Malaga, Spain. I had a great summer and have two more weeks left before I start my internship. Today the theme is neon, and what is more fitting during the summer months. I love neons, and have been on a hunt for a dupe for the original Flip Flop Fantasy from China Glaze, and I think I have found a really close one, which I’m wearing today. I’m planning on doing a huge dupes post for Flip Flop Fantasy, because I have a lot of close polishes after a year of searching.

I have three coats of China Glaze Shocking Pink on my index and pinky nails. This looks really close to the original Flip Flop Fantasy. I have three coats of Wet n Wild French White Creme on my thumb, middle and ring finger. I stamped with the MoYou London Pro XL 06 plate on my thumb and middle using MoYou London Black Knight. On my ring finger I stamped with the MoYou London Fashionista 04 plate.

I added a little bit of China Glaze Shocking Pink to some of the petals on the flower nails, to add a pop of color on those nails as well. If I do it again I will probably do a little bit of dry brushing on the nail before stamping. Remember to click by the other ladies to see what they did for today.

Fancy Friday #157 – Summer

Happy friday. Summer is almost here, at least the temperatures are high and the sun is shining most of the time, I love it. I have been outside in the sun for as long as possible, to soak up as many sun rays as possible before they leave us again.

I did another dry brush manicure for the base of the nail art. It is so easy and fast and looks really good. I started with two coats of OPI Don’t Bossa Nova Me Around. Then I dry brushed using China Glaze Glow With the Flow, OPI Kiss Me I’m Brazilian and China Glaze Feel The Breeze. I then stamped a flamingo pattern on top using MoYou London Tropical 16 plate and MoYou London White Knight.

I have wanted to do flamingo nail art for the past couple of months but never had an occasion to do it, but I thought the pink color of the flamingo is very summery and flamingos also remind me of Florida, the Sunshine State.

I dag er temaet sommer. Jeg har haft flamingo negle på hjernen i et par måneder og tænkte nu måtte det være. Jeg elsker deres fine lyserøde farve og så minder de mig om Florida og solskin.

Fancy Friday #156 – Favorite colors

Happy Friday. My favorite color is purple, but I have done a lot of nail art with the color lately, so I decided to switch it up. Also really like blue so I found a couple of new blue and purple polishes I hadn’t used yet and did a dry brush manicure, inspired by Chalkboard Nails.

I started out with a base of Wet n Wild French White Creme. On top of that I dry brushed with China Glaze Too Yacht To Handle, Picture Polish, Blue Bird, Forget Me Not and Spring. On top of that I dry brushed with OPI Black Onyx.

It’s been a while since I have done a dry brush manicure, but it is a really easy and fast to do, and has a really cool effect. Remember to check out the other ladies and their nail art.

Fancy Friday #153 – Purple

Todays theme is purple. Purple is my favorite color, and I have a lot of purple nail polishes. Todays manicure is another one from the vault of nail art on my computer. I did this manicure almost a year ago, so now is the time to post it.

I have two coats of China Glaze Plur-ple on my index and pinky nail. This is from last years neon collection. I love cool-toned purples and this one is really bright and fun. On my middle and ring finger I have two coats of a England Encore Margot, topped with a stamp from MoYou London Holy Shapes 08 plate. The pinky is topped with a coat of Claire’s Sequins, a hot pink, white and black glitter polish.

I like the neon combined with the holographic polish. All the a England holographic polishes, are soft in their holographic-ness. They are never in your face, but more of a sophisticated holographic polish. Remember to click by the other ladies to see what they did for today.

Fancy Friday #152 – Up and down (Gradient)

Happy belated Friday. I’m a bit late with this weeks post, but I had a Confirmation on Friday, and forgot to schedule the post before I left in the morning.

This is an old manicure from 2013. I didn’t have time to do something new for this week that fit with the theme. I was not sure what the prompt meant, so I took it quite literally, and figured since a gradient is done with up and down motions it must count.

I used three of the polishes from the original 80’s Baby Collection from Different Dimension. On my index I have Ditz, the middle is Whatever and the pinky is Homeboy. The gradient is done with all three Ditz at the cuticle, Whatever in the middle and Homeboy at the tip. This was actually my very first gradient, so the color blending is not as great. Fancy Friday #150 – Dots

Happy friday. I’m loving the longer days, and the bushes are starting to turn green. I was inspired for todays manicure by Kelli Marissa formerly known as The Nail Polish Challenge. She did a really cute pastel neon dotted manicure. You can find the original on her Instagram account.

I started with three coats of Wet n Wild French White Creme. Once that was dry I dotted the first curved line with China Glaze Feel The Breeze. I continued with Cult Nails Love at 1st Sight, China Glaze Boho Blues, China Glaze Treble Maker and finally China Glaze Highlight of my Summer.

I varied the placement of the dots on the nails so it wasn’t the same pattern on all the nails. I wish I had used some more pastel colors. The pink and purple where a little to muted or dark looking back. Remember to click by the other ladies.

Fancy Friday #142 – Love

Happy Friday everyone. Since we are only two days away from Valentines Day, the theme for this Friday is love. I was in a bit of a hurry with this manicure, since I’m currently on my way on a skirt, so I repurposed or updated my existing manicure. I actually have another idea in mind for another pink/red manicure, so that will probably be up when I get home from vacation.

My original manicure had three coats of Color Club Hot-Hot-Hot Pants on my index and middle finger, so I added some nail vinyls from Twinkled T and painted a coat of China Glaze Strawberry Fields over it, to add a little love. On my ring finger I have three coats of Wet n Wild French White Creme and I stamped using MoYou London Black Knight and MoYou London Fashionista plate 05. On my pinky I have three coats of a England Merlin to add a little glitter

On my thumb I have the same chevron pattern as on my ring finger. I really enjoy these skittlette manicures, not only because I get to wear multiple polishes and textures, but it makes the manicure more interesting to look at, than if it was just one color or one nail art technique. Fancy Friday #119 – Rainbow

Happy Friday. Today is my birthday, I’m turning 22, and what better way to celebrate that with a little rainbow skittle on the nails. This manicure was completely copied from Sarah from Chalkboard Nails and her Rainbow Leopard Skittles, from the design to the nail polish colors, so all credit goes to her 🙂

I started with three coats of each of the neon shimmers from China Glaze. On my index I have I’m With the Lifeguard, on my middle nail I have Sun-Kissed, the ring finger is Orange You Hot? and the pinky is Surfin’ For Boys, these colors are super fun and bright. I then added the leopard print with a dotting tool for the white part which is OPI Alpine Snow and a small detail brush for the black outline which is OPI Black Onyx.

To complete the rainbow I have Splish Splash also from China Glaze. This manicure was super easy and quick to do, and you could vary the base colors for different results. Remember to click by the other ladies to see what they have come up with for today.

Fancy Friday #117 – Inspired by a magazine

I was completely lost for ideas for this theme, so I just started looking through some magazines to see if there was any nail art in them. I found a multicolored dotticure and decided to recreate it with some different colors. I used the same colors as last week, just because I was wearing the two manicures at the same time and it didn’t seem to weird when they had the same colors.

I started with three coats of Essie Ballet Slippers, to even out the color on my nails and then I used two different sized dotting tools to create the dots. I used China Glaze Highlight of my Summer, China Glaze Plur-ple, Appeal4 Hopley’s Hope, Mesauda Aquamarine and Barry M Gold Foil.

I really liked how it turned out, and the pop of gold gave it a little extra sparkle. Remember to click by the other ladies to see what they have done for today.

Fancy Friday #116 – Festival

So today we are inspired by festivals. I have never been to one, the whole idea does not attract me. If I was going I would definitely go to Coachella, just because the weather is great and the festival seems really clean and the music is more me. When I think of festivals I think tie die or gradients with tribal prints and metallic tattoos.

I was inspired by a manicure done by @badgirlnails on Instagram so I recreated that on my thumb, middle and ring finger nails. I started with two coats of China Glaze Highlight of My Summer and then did the gradient with the China Glaze, Mesauda Aquamarine, Appeal4 Hopley’s Hope and China Glaze Plur-ple. I then painted the Aztec print with a striper brush, a small detail brush and black acrylic paint.

For the nails with the metallic tattoo, I just cut out the tattoo, removed the clear film and applied it with the pattern face down on the nail. I then wet a cotton swab with water and pressed the water on the decal until it came off the white backing paper. I sealed everything in with a topcoat.

I dag er vi inspireret af festivals. Jeg har aldrig været på en festival og har hellere ikke lyst til det, det skulle da lige være Coachella der ser rigtig hyggelig og ren ud.
